Blue and White

Villa Esperanza Services Blue & White headed South to New Orleans and Jazzed’ it up on May 16, 2010. 240 guests strolled down Bourbon Street at the private home of Mary & Bill Urquhart of South Pasadena.

The event raised over $116,000 for Villa’s programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities. This was the 13th year honoring individuals who support Villa in a variety of ways.

Guardian Angel Awards were bestowed upon Jane Kaczmarek, actor and philanthropist, and Brij Lal, owner of clothing manufacturing company Wrapper USA and former Board Member of Villa Esperanza Services. Actor, Annie Potts, served as the Mistress of Ceremonies and said “Villa Esperanza is an archetype of person-centered learning that is going to be a model for schools across the country.”

“Blue & White was a tremendous success thanks to the hard work of the planning committee and staff members. Having Jane, Brij and Annie help us kick off our year 50th Anniversary celebration made it even more special,” Committee Chairman Marybeth Rehman-Dittu comments. Blue & White had something for everyone—the kids enjoyed New Orleans Pirate Jean Lafitte crafts, guests heard jazz music fill the beautiful Art District where they had caricature drawings and tarot card readings.

Sponsors included Mr. and Mrs. Ashfaqur Rehman-Dittu, Wells Fargo Private Client Services, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vaughn, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Alexander, East West Bank, Mijares Mexican Restaurant, Whittier Trust Company and Wrapper, USA Just for Wraps.
