Honoring Frances Sands

Sands works with a studentWe are pleased to announce that Frances Sands received the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (CSHA) award for Outstanding Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA). She received her associate degree from Pasadena College’s SLPA program in 2005 and went to work for Villa in the Hjelte-Phillips Speech and Language Center as a Speech Assistant.

Each year CSHA recognizes students, service providers and speech and language pathologist assistants throughout the state of California at its annual state convention. Out of ten districts only two give awards for Outstanding SLPA; one such award was given to Frances Sands at the Association Dinner and Awards ceremony on Friday, March 9, 2007.

“We are so proud to be celebrating this great achievement with Frances,” said Dottie Nelson, CEO of Villa Esperanza Services. “We are honored to have Frances as a part of our team. Her excellent work and dedication to the students truly resonates the care and compassion that Villa provides.”
