Getting Started with Regional Centers: What Families Need to Know

Who We Are

Villa Esperanza Services is a proud non-profit organization rooted in the heart of our community. We offer a range of programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities, including life skills training, employment support, recreational activities, and family resources. Our team of caring professionals and volunteers work closely with each individual to create personalized plans that foster growth, independence, and social connection.

Getting Started with Regional Centers

For families and individuals interested in accessing our services, partnering with regional centers is often the first step. California’s regional centers are state-funded agencies that coordinate services and supports for people with developmental disabilities. Here’s how you can get started:

  1. Contact Your Regional Center: Find your local regional center through the California Department of Developmental Services website. Reach out to schedule an intake assessment.

  2. Assessment and Eligibility: During the assessment, professionals will evaluate the individual’s needs to determine eligibility for services. If eligible, a Service Coordinator will be assigned to develop a tailored support plan.

  3. Developing a Support Plan: The support plan outlines the services, therapies, and community resources that best suit the individual’s goals and needs. This may include enrollment in programs like those offered by Villa Esperanza Services.

  4. Connecting with Villa Esperanza: Once enrolled, your Service Coordinator can help facilitate access to our programs, whether it’s employment training, social activities, or family support services.

How We Can Help

Villa Esperanza Services works in partnership with regional centers to ensure each individual’s journey is supported with compassion and expertise. Our goal is to help individuals develop skills, build friendships, and become active members of our community.
