Adult Residential Services

Villa Esperanza Services is committed to providing individualized, accessible, affordable housing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through Villa’s various levels of support and assistance, individuals are reaching their greatest level of independence: living, working, playing and being active in their community.

Villa’s residential program includes seven group homes and six independent living apartments. Each home is equipped with six beds each. All homes are located in the Pasadena area. Villa also offers Independent Living Skills (ILS) and Supportive Living Skills (SLS) Programs for individuals living independently who need ongoing support. Qualified, trained staff assist residents in all areas of life. In all of Villa’s homes, we practice a person-centered approach, providing residents with enriching social and community activities, as well as educational opportunities, to nurture and promote individual choice. “It’s very rare to find this housing in LA and across the country. I have a disability community now, neighbors, a safe place to live, my own bathroom, a courtyard, and backyard with a barbecue grill.”

— Carissa, resident

“Villa impacts the whole person. They want to help people grow and feel valued in their lives. That’s something Villa has done for as long as I can remember.”

— Jim, brother of resident Jackie

Meet Your Director

Having dedicated over 25 years to Villa, Damion Lee’s tenure reflects a deep-seated commitment to our residents. His guiding principle in this work is simply a desire to help people, a value that has remained constant throughout his time here. The most rewarding part of his role is witnessing the smiles on the faces of those we serve, a visual confirmation that our efforts are making a positive impact.

Damion’s connection to Villa's mission began unexpectedly. He learned about the organization through his church community and was unaware such a field of work existed. His initial day was uncertain, as he wasn't sure if he was capable of fulfilling the demands of the role. However, by the end of that first day, Damion realized he had helped someone, a feeling that resonated deeply. This sense of purpose, the ability to support his "Villa Family," is what motivated him to return day after day. His journey at Villa is a testament to growth from within. Starting as direct care staff, Damion has been fortunate to receive several promotions, culminating in his current role as Director of Residential Services. Villa's growth highlights the significant opportunities within the organization and reinforces his strong commitment to its goals and the people we serve.
